Let me start by saying how incredibly friendly and welcoming the owners are. You can feel right away that they truly know their seafood — everything is made fresh, and you can taste the love in every bite. My husband and I started with the chips and salsa, and wow… the salsa was unbelievably fresh and full of flavor. For our mains, we ordered the wild‑caught Argentinian red shrimp ceviche, and oh my goodness — it was over the top delicious. We also tried the mahi‑mahi taco on a Sonora‑style flour tortilla, and it came with the most amazing fire‑roasted green sauce. Absolute perfection. I highly recommend this spot to anyone in the area or visiting. You’ll fall in love with everything — the food, the atmosphere, and the people. I’ll be back in the Kern area in a few weeks, and I already can’t wait to try more from the menu.

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The staff was very helpful in navigating gluten free options. We got ceviche tostadas, asada tacos, chicken quesadillas and some rice and beans. The asada was marinated and grilled to perfection. The ceviche was both fresh and generous. The kids devoured the quesadillas. Highly recommended.

I’m new to ceviche (coming from the Czech Republic, where it’s not a common dish) but I’m a bit of a foodie and quite picky. That said, this place, the food, and the service were absolutely outstanding. My partner and I ordered the fisherman’s ceviche and a guava agua fresca, and both were delicious. Highly recommended!

If you're looking for a great menu of fresh fish, ceviche and "hand-helds" for breakfast or lunch DO NOT MISS the Kern River Ceviche Company in Lake Isabella. WOW! The family that owns it stocks the freshest seafood for their tacos, tostadas, burritos and bowls. Excellent hand smashed guacamole, too! It's a small place but easy to find. The service was great and the food was even better!!! We'll be back.

Well, I thought it was going to be a nice place to stop before heading towards my destination. Unfortunately my experience with this please wasn't the greatest. I purchased the mix shrimp & Mahi-Mahi, took a while to give me my food, I thought they were making it fresh, I paid 20 dls for the tray, which wasn't even full, like barely any shrimp in it, and you top it off, it har a smell to it, it seemed like they had made it 2 days before,I also order chips and salsa, I paid $7 for it, they barely give me any tortilla chips. They give me a lot salsa, the salsa was good.

From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was incredible—the restaurant has such a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately made us feel welcome. The owner personally greeted us and took the time to explain the menu, which showed their passion for the food and dedication to providing excellent service. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests’ experience. The food was simply delicious! We tried several dishes, and every single one exceeded our expectations. The Isabella ceviche was fresh and perfectly balanced, the flavorful and generous fajitas were delicious, and the surf and turf tacos were divine. The lobster tail tacos were a real highlight, and the sequoia harvest bowl was beautiful and satisfying. Don’t miss their aguas frescas either - they’re the perfect complement to the meal and are made with care. After trying several restaurants in the area, I can confidently say this is the best we’ve experienced. The incredible food, welcoming service, and beautiful atmosphere make Kern River Ceviche Company a fantastic choice. We’ll be back!

I love Kern River Ceviche Company so much! Our little town up here in Lake Isabella, Ca needed a place like this, the food is delicious, the service is great. Sometimes when they’re busy, it could slow down, but everything is fresh made to order. The atmosphere is happy and they make you feel like family.

Fresh and flavorful ceviche and other seafood. We got the Fishermans Ceviche, a shrimp burrito, one lobster and one Mahi Mahi taco and every single thing was impressive and tasted super fresh. We will be back, and implore you to stop and give this place a try if you are in the area.
